Alex Pereira is preparing for one of the biggest fights of his UFC career this weekend but has still found time to blow off some steam before Saturday’s showdown with Jiri Prochazka.

The Brazilian met former two-division champion Daniel Cormier for media duties before this weekend’s mouthwatering main event.

Footage has emerged of the pair having a little bit of fun. Firstly, Cormier wanted to see how strong a leg kick he could take from the Brazilian. ‘DC’ asked ‘Poatan’ to kick him in the leg, which was apparently 5% of power.

Next, the former middleweight champion hit the retired fighter with 10% of power before asking to raise to 25% – which left ‘DC’ in agonizing pain.

However, the shenanigans didn’t stop there. With a golf club in hand, Pereira asked Cormier to stand in front of him – with his back facing.

At first, Cormier appeared to be against the idea, saying: ‘Don’t hit me with a golf club.’

After a bit of convincing, the former fighter-turned-pundit agreed to Pereira’s request.

Pereira then hilariously swiped his hand at Cormier, with ‘DC’ under the impression that the Brazilian swung the club at his head.

It is fair to say that Pereira had the last laugh and got his own back on the UFC icon.

Back in August, Hans Molenkamp, a Monster Energy executive, took to social media to post a video of Cormier mocking the Brazilian’s golfing ability.

The trio were playing a golf simulator – with one of Pereira’s shots being so poor, Cormier couldn’t help but laugh.

Speaking ahead of his fight with Prochazka, Pereira revealed he will not be fighting with mixed emotions after the Czech-born fighter defeated his coach and mentor Glover Teixeira.

‘I’m not going into this fight with mixed emotions about vengeance,’ Pereira told CBS Sports.

‘I don’t want to play that game. I want to go with a very positive mindset. I’m going to fight with the mindset that they haven’t even fought before. But looking into the other side of being able to bring Glover his belt back and put it back in the gym, that means a lot to me.

‘Glover always helps a lot. He gave me good feedback for this fight. Honestly, regardless of having fought Jiri or not, Glover always helps a lot in many ways. He makes a big difference in the camp.’

Pereira comes into the fight off the back of a win against Jan Blachowicz on his light-heavyweight debut earlier this year.

As for Prochazka, the 205lbs star will be returning to the cage for the first time in over a year – after recovering from a brutal shoulder injury.
