The domestic battery case against Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Zay Jones has been dropped.

Jones was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge in November and booked into the Duval County Jail. The jail record at the time showed his arrest was for domestic battery causing bodily harm.

One day before he was scheduled to be arraigned, the charge against Jones was dropped according to TMZ.

The report said that officers ‘observed several small scratches on the victim’s neck consistent with marks from a fingernail.’

‘We are aware of the situation and are in the midst of gathering information,’ the Jaguars said in a statement at the time. ‘We will have no further comment at this time.’

Jones hauled in 34 receptions for 321 yards and two touchdowns throughout the 2023 season.

The 2017 second-round pick missed four consecutive games because of lingering knee soreness during the campaign.

The Jaguars had lead the AFC South at one point during the season but slumped to a 9-8 finish to end up second behind the Texans.

Jones played college ball at East Carolina and still holds NCAA Division I records for career receptions (399) and single-season receptions (158).
